It offers stylish, five-star accommodation, fine cuisine and one of the most unique relaxation spas in Thailand.

Ideal for those seeking some privacy, the resort is largely accessible by sea and guests tend to arrive at the resort by speedboat from Krabi pier. Another option is to drive from Phuket, less than two hours away on a well-surfaced highway.

The Villas
Rayavadee has 98 two-storey circular pavilions and four private villas to choose from. The deluxe pavilions are spacious and stylishly decorated with polished wood, richly-coloured fabrics and hand-crafted details with an outdoor terrace with seating. The Family Pavilions have all this plus an additional ground floor bedroom with two queen size beds and an outdoor dining - some also have hydro-pools. The Spa Pavilions have a private garden with an outdoor Jacuzzi, shower, sun lounges and a gazebo while the Hydro-Pool Pavilions have a 4.5 x 2.5 metre freshwater hydro-pool in a tropical garden with sun lounges and a terrace.

The villas also offer unrivalled luxury. Raitalay Villa is set on a sheltered corner of Railay Beach, featuring two en-suite bedrooms, one with a king size bed and the other with twin beds, as well as a living and dining room, kitchenette and an outdoor deck with hydro pool. Rayavadee Villa has its own free-form swimming pool with built-in Jacuzzi and views over Phranang Beach. Furnished in elegant, contemporary Thai style, it has two large adjoining bedrooms (a master bedroom with lavish en-suite bath and a guest room with twin beds and en-suite bathroom) as well as a living and lounge area, kitchenette, poolside dining room, private sauna as well as plenty of space for outdoor entertainment. The two Phranang Villas are discreetly hidden amidst the limestone cliffs with views overlooking Phranang Beach. Each exclusive villa boasts a master bedroom with en-suite bath and two additional (non-adjoining) guest bedrooms, each with en-suite bathroom. They have spacious living rooms, dining areas and kitchenettes and private swimming pools.

The Facilities
The resort has four very different restaurants to choose from. Raya Dining offers a five-star service in an elegant yet informal setting with everything from salads to succulent lobster, racks of lamb and grilled tenderloin on offer. Krua Phranang offers romantic Thai food by the sea with specials that include delicious curries, salads, soups, seafood and freshly-caught fish, while the Raitalay Terrace offers a stylish, beachside setting next to the free-form infinity pool. Underneath the ancient limestone cliff on the edge of Phranang Beach lies the Grotto, offering leisurely lunches and barbeques on some days.

The resort's spa has an extensive range of therapies on offer and the Rayavadee Boutique is a treasure trove of more than 2,500 items ranging from jewellery, clothes, ceramics, home accessories and antiques.

Excursions can be easily arranged; whether you're looking to escape to a deserted beach at sunset or spend the day on one of the luxurious speedboats visiting Phi Phi Island or Phang Nga Bay, there are plenty of options. Rock climbing, kayaking, nature hikes, scuba diving and Thai cookery classes can also be arranged.
