'5/5 5 for Ella - really welcoming hosts and great fun to spend time with them. Wonderful views and excellent food.' FL - Aug 2015.

This delightful little guesthouse is ideal for those seeking tranquility and peace. Set just 1.5km from the small village of Ella, it offers a very scenic vantage point with views on a fine day stretching right across the south coast of Sri Lanka.

Waterfalls Homestay has three uniquely designed rooms for you to choose from. The smallest and cutest of the three is the Jungle Room, which feels like a luxurious tree house. The semi hexagonal room offers 180 degree views of the jungle and has polished floor boards, and en suite with hot and cold water and a small private veranda. The Veranda Room is a spacious double facing the waterfall with French doors opening on to a large veranda, a huge wrought iron bed and en-suite. And finally, the first floor Studio Room, with panoramic 180 degree views, boasts terracotta floors, well stocked book shelves and en-suite. It has one double and one single bed, making it an ideal room for families.

The homestay has both indoor and outdoor dinning facilities, in-house Ayuvedic massage services, free wi-fi and satellite television. It also has an extensive book, DVD and music library that guests can help themselves to, as well as games.

Despite the sleepy backdrop, there is plenty to do in the area. Guests can take the one-hour return walk to Little Adams Peak through tea plantations, take the three-hour Ella Rock Climb, visit a tea factory or hand loom factory, and of course visit the waterfalls that give the homestay its name.
