"Good food, relaxed place, quiet service, good value. We found this a good base from which to do some local exploring including big day trip to Uda Walawe." AB - August 2012

"We stayed at Tisara villa for a week and had a wonderful time. After a 2 hour drive from Colombo on the new express-way arriving at the villas was a great feeling! Our villa was ready for us and check in was a breeze...the villa was beautiful, very clean and comfortably furnished.. with.a functional kitchen, and a private garden where we spent most of our evenings! The pool was just a step away and was lovely, the kids enjoyed it very much. The garden is filled with birds and flowers...there are 2 lilly ponds too. I think the best part was having food served in your own villa at your own table. Our kids were very comfortable and meal times were relaxed( ;) ) The food is good too. The staff are really sweet and try their best to make your stay comfortable. Namal(?) and Ajuntha (??) were very helpful. Our thanks to Mr Anura , his Manager Mr Neel and all the staff at Tisara villa.....My family enjoyed our stay so much that my daughter calls it Paradise Villa ! Would we go back....yes for sure! Room Tip: You will need mosquito repelleant in the evenings!" TA August 2012

Tisara Villas is an Eco Retreat ideal for those who enjoy relaxing in lush natural surroundings but don't really want to give up their creature comforts. The exteriors of the villas blend seamlessly with the garden and forest beyond and the interiors are modern, clean and air-conditioned. These villas are perfect for families or anyone just looking to escape it all.

The villas have been built from natural materials with traditional mud exterior walls, terracotta flooring, timber ceilings and clay-tiled roofs.

On the inside each villa has two air-conditioned double bedrooms with antique four poster beds. Spacious en-suite bathrooms with a bathtub and open air shower. A comfortable living and dining area with a table that can seat six people. A further two children can also be accommodated in the living area if necessary. Wide verandahs with planters' chairs lead out onto a walled garden. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes a mini-bar.

The villas have a butler service and are cleaned daily. The entire property has Wi-Fi access.

An attractive swimming pool forms the focal point of the garden and there is a small Ayurveda Centre offering relaxing massages.

There is no restaurant at Tisara Villas. Instead there is a team of in house chefs. Guests can order from the menu and a chef will come and cook meals in your own villa. Sri Lankan, western and fusion dishes are prepared with fresh seafood and vegetables bought from the village and served in traditional clay pots. Alternatively guests can cook for themselves.

Fruit juices and a limited variety of alcoholic beverages are available and guests are welcome to bring their own wine and spirits.

The beautiful south coast beaches of Unawatuna, Thalpe and Habaraduwa are just ten minutes away from Tisara. Local taxis are very cheap. A fifteen minute drive will take you to the historic city of Galle a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Guests can also explore the local village of Koggala by bike and visit the Koggala Folk Museum that provides an insight into Sri Lankan Folk culture. Koggala Lake is good for fishing and scattered with nine picturesque islands.

Back at the villas individual or group Yoga lessons can be organised upon request and linked to guided meditation sessions at a nearby temple. Ayurvedic massage is also on offer.

During the construction of Tisara Villas the owners ensured that for every tree that had to be removed ten were re-planted in its place. This has ensured that the animal and bird life within the grounds of Tisara has remained as vibrant as possible. You can see ten of Sri Lanka's indigenous bird species in the garden.
