This handsome villa has a beautiful garden setting ideal for barefoot living by the sea. Features include colourful antique furniture, high timber ceilings, a spacious verandah and private plunge pool. The interior is tastefully decorated with art from Sri Lanka and overseas.

There are two double rooms, each with their own private bathroom and direct access to the verandah. There is also a small room available next to the kitchen area that can accommodate any staff that you may travel with (also includes its own private bathroom). Bedrooms have air conditioning and overhead fans and are comfortably furnished with four poster beds fitted with mosquito netting. En-suite bathrooms have hot water showers.

The spacious living room opens onto the verandah and the garden. It is equipped with and iPod dock, Bose sound system and board games. There is a private plunge pool in the garden and the sea immediately in front of the villa is safe for swimming and snorkelling during the season from December to April.

The villa is fully staffed with a cook who will go to the morning market for you and whip up a delicious array of local and international cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can choose to dine on the verandah or by the poolside. Guests are welcome to bring their own alcoholic beverages.


 Spend your days with a good book and a cup of tea on the verandah or relax by the pool. A relaxing Ayurvedic massage can also be arranged with prior notice. For the more active days there is surfing, scuba diving and whale watching nearby. You can also take longer day trips to Yala National Park which is 2.5 hours away, the Kalametiya Bird Sanctuary which is 40 minutes away and the UNESCO Galle Fort which is 1.5 hours away. The house has its own 3 wheel tuk-tuk, which can be used for local journeys, but a car / minibus can also be organised.

Little Cove House is located 5 minutes from Dikwella, which is about half-way between Tangalle and Matara. Transfer time form the airport 3.5 - 4 hours or you can take the daily sea plane from Colombo, which lands at the Mawella Lagoon, just 15 minutes from the house.

Little Cove House can be rented with the adjacent property, Cove House, to accommodate up to ten guests. Please see the aerial photo to get an idea of distance between the two properties.
