It is surprising that given the wonderful islands beaches and reefs scattered across the Maldives, most visitors choose to stay in one resort and see a fraction of the archipelago. The alternative is stay afloat for your visit (for at least some of the time) and a catamaran like the Kingfish is difficult to beat.

Navigation can be tricky so we only offer fully crewed boats in Maldives and this mean not only do you have an experienced skipper but also a private chef to keep everything shipshape and of course provide the highest quality of cuisine. The crew have separate sleeping quarters.

The Kingfish is 14m in length (44ft) and the catamaran layout means lots of space below and above decks. There are 3 double cabins each with their own shower room a spacious living area, although you will spent most of time on deck including eating meals. There is no air-conditioning in the cabins as otherwise a generator has to run all night but the boat always lies into the wind and therefore there is constant cross-flow ventilation from the way it is designed.

Your itinerary will depend on the duration and what you want to do: you can head for the surfing waves on the eastern edge of the atolls or the calmer water and deserted sand-strips further west. Wind conditions are general light to moderate November to April and then stronger in the other months (which is also when there may be rain although not much of it) but it almost never gets too strong to be port-bound and the atolls and reefs break up any waves so sailing is very smooth. If the wind completely drops the boat has powerful engines so your itinerary is not disrupted.

You can fish for your lunch and swimming and snorkelling are fantastic. Diving equipment and a divemaster can be provided at extra cost if required. There is also a tender (dinghy) for exploring the islands and you can go ashore at the hotels for land based entertainment as well. A good idea is also to combine some days cruising with a stay in the one of the spectacular resorts.

Rates include all meals, snacks, teas and coffees, soft drinks, linen, towels, snorkelling, fishing, use of tender with 25 hp outboard and airport transfers. Diving available at Euro 40 per person per dive. Hiring of Dive Master: 100 Euros per day.
