A boutique seaside hotel showcasing Boholano artistry with modern comforts.

This delightful seaside resort in Panglao highlights the best of Boholano artistry across its 30 rooms and gently sloping grounds. Amarela boasts a private beach leading to waters easy to snorkel and kayak, a library, an art gallery, and beautifully appointed rooms.

Superior and Deluxe rooms all have balconies and are located adjacent to the main building. The rooms are furnished with a mix of antique and custom pieces using repurposed wood for artistic touches. We think the Deluxe rooms are worth the upgrade for additional space and the views over the water. In the main building are the lovely specialty rooms. The corner Antequara, Samia, and Amarela rooms greet guests with gleaming hardwood floors and doors and are adorned with original local art.

For couples seeking a private hideaway, the Bohol House is tucked away in a garden with its own swimming pool. This two-story villa has ample seating areas in both sun and shade, beautiful flooring complete with inlaid woodcut design, and a variety of Boholano art.

A library filled with books, games, and films is open for guests at all times complete with comfy chairs in which to curl up with a good page-turner. Bohol has a rich tradition of artistry and intricate woodworking. Amarela's art gallery showcases the work of local artists and artisans and is well worth a wander. Down the hill from the main house and beyond the swimming pool is a private beach. Hammocks are strung up between trees and lounge chairs beckon from the sand with umbrellas and side tables. Kayaks, snorkeling gear, and native banca boats are available for guests.

The property's restaurant uses herbs and in-season vegetables grown in the onsite organic garden and fresh local seafood. Offerings are a mix of Filipino cuisine and international favorites. High above the coastline, diners can look out over the lush grounds toward the Bohol Sea.

Amarela has green initiatives in place for the protection, conservation, and promotion of the environment. It's located in Panglao, approximately 30 minutes from the airport and pier of Tagbilaran.

Please note that Amarela is built into a hill and there is no elevator to the upper-floor rooms. Access to the swimming pool, beach, and many rooms requires going up or down stairs.
