Spread across more than 20 acres and sitting close to the eastern shore of Inle Lake, the Villa Inle Resort is a deluxe hotel that also captures the culture and national identity of Myanmar.

Its 27 secluded villas make for an exclusive experience away from the tourist trail. The villas are designed to harmoniously blend in with the natural beauty of their surroundings and feature hand-selected local paintings, high wooden ceilings, and spacious living areas and bathrooms. We love the four-poster beds draped in misquito netting which are the centre-piece of the room - on grand platforms, with a living space below. Guests can be sure to unwind in comfort after a day of exploring.

Lakefront balconies and floor-to-ceiling windows allow visitors to watch as fishermen glide by on the lake, and flocks of migratory and native birds take off from the surrounding treetops. The resort as a whole has an intimate feel.

During winter months the night air at the lake, which is 1000m above sea level, can drop below 10 degrees, but each villa is fitted with both heating and air conditioning meaning guests can stay in total comfort.

The Inle spa is staffed by trained therapists who can help you relax and rejuvenate. Boat tours which include a trip to Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the most holy religious site in southern Shan State, are also available.

At the restaurant, diners can enjoy Shan or Inle Lake traditional food and sip a cocktail as the sun goes down. The resort has an organic garden on site so you can be sure of healthy, locally grown produce - even the daily fruit of the day which is placed in your room comes from the organic garden on site.
