Situated in the heart of Yangon downtown area, within walking distance of the main shopping area and commercial centres, East Hotel is an idea base to explore from.

This boutique hotel has carefully designed to offer modern and stylish comfort. Being a downtown hotel, the rooms are not as large as some of the hotels you will find further out but they have used the space extremely well and no corner has been wasted. We particularly loved the stylish glass shower cubicle that is effectively in the bedroom at one end (with a blind), and the toilet and sink are just beyond behind half-sized swinging shutter doors (note this means there is not a proper door separating the loo from the bedroom).

The hotel has 45 guest rooms and three serviced apartments,most of which offer Pagoda views. We prefer the deluxe and junior suites in the main building. Next door, there is another building attached which has the retro deluxe rooms, which just don't seem to feel quite as loved.

The Amber Cafes breakfast,lunch and dinner and its cuisine is East meets West. Diners can watch the chefs at work in the open kitchen.

Massages and spa treatments are also available.
