"The whole experience was brilliant - largely because of the crew. Particularly the cook who managed to serve outstanding meals every day from seemingly nowhere without any repetitions." - Fiona McF, Feb 2019

Little known amongst western travellers, the Myeik Archipelago boasts more than 800 virtually deserted islands, fringed with white sand beaches, forest backdrops and shallow waters brimming with marine life.

With virtually no development on the islands, the best and only real way to discover the islands is to take a luxury sailing or cruising expedition around them. We work with Burma Boating which has a beautiful collection of boats that all offer something a little bit different. They offer six or eight day cruises, with both join in options and private charter boats.

Days are spent relaxing on board, swimming, snorkelling and visiting islands - some of which are home to the Moken tribal people (also known as sea gypsies) who live in the region. Evenings are spent enjoying wonderfully-prepared multi-course dinners.

SY Meltemi: 6-Day Cruises and Private Charter
The first catamaran to be added to the Burma Boating fleet, the Meltemi’s previous owner was a Malay princess and is certainly fit for royalty! The four cabins are extremely comfortable, particularly the spacious owner’s suite; all are air-conditioned and feature an en-suite bathroom. The light, airy interiors are more contemporary in style than the single hull vessels. When it comes to activities, kayaks, fishing rods and snorkelling gear is provided on board.

SY Meta IV: 6-Day Cruises and Private Charter
Built entirely of Thai teak, the 85-foot Meta IV started life as a businessman’s private yacht before beginning its career in the Myeik Archipelago. Fully restored in 2012 it features four air-conditioned cabins, each with an en-suite bathroom. There’s plenty of space in which to relax both indoor and out (for those wanting to work on their tan) and an intimate dining area.

SY Raja Laut: 6-Day Cruises and Private Charter
The 100-foot Raja Laut is a classic two-masted wooden schooner, with rich timber interiors that exude an air of class and elegance. Built in 2006, her hull and rigging are based on the designs of European yachts and small trading ships of the 19th century. Its’ six cabins are fully air-conditioned with en-suite bathrooms. There is a spacious deck as well as a cosy lounge area below deck complete with sofas and a flat screen TV. You can dine inside or al-fresco under the stars.

MY Drenec: Private Charter
A totally different concept to the rest of the fleet, Drenec is a very spacious high-end exploration vessel and is perfectly designed for sea adventures around the globe. The five cabins are extremely spacious and of high quality - probably the finest cabins of the entire fleet, while outdoor space is ample. There are 3 decks: main, upper and sun deck all with teak floor, teak varnished handrails and cozy sitting areas. The al fresco dining table and living area is extremely spacious - as is the inside dining and lounge room.

In addition to the above boats, there are a selection of private charter sailing boats that are not mentioned here - please ask us for more detail. Getting there and away isn't as difficult as you might imagine. Guests coming from within Myanmar will fly to Kawthaung and those within Thailand can fly to Ranong where they can easily cross the land border into Myanmar the into the Myeik Archipelago.
