A charming boutique hotel built in two former shophouses in the heart of Kuching.
Suites include the beautiful Margaret and Sylvia, reached from a shared staircase. These spacious, luxuriously appointed rooms have day beds and private sky garden decks with views over the city of Kuching. Leonora has a more contemporary design with clean lines and sleek fabrics. Accessed by an entirely private staircase, this room has its own verandah looking toward the city's main bazaar. Elizabeth and Valerie share a staircase and also have sky garden decks. These generously-sized rooms have day beds and ample space in which to relax.
Executive Suites have views toward the Sarawak River. A door between the bedroom and sitting area closes out any noise between the two. Deluxe Suites all have individual balconies overlooking old Carpenter Street or an interior air well. Cozy Standard Suites have French Windows looking out toward the Sarawak River or an interior verandah. A secluded enclave on the ground floor is home to two such suites that share an interior verandah with a water feature. These are ideal for two couples traveling together or a family with older children.
A reading lounge on the first floor offers a quiet sitting area for all guests with books and magazines to borrow or peruse. MBar and Bistro serves a variety of international and local fare and is a great place to try The Ranee's Tuak (a local rice wine) or one of their unique tuak desserts. The street-front Café Trio is a lovely spot for people watching over a light snack, cup of tea, or a bit of homemade gelato. A small shop sells a variety of souvenirs and items, some of which support the Sarawak School for the Mentally Handicapped Kuching.
Please note that guests under the age of 12 are not permitted and that a short flight of stairs is necessary to reach the elevator from the ground floor.
