A luxurious retreat deep within the ancient protected rainforest of Danum Valley.
The lodge consists of chalets in varying designs and the new premier villas and deluxe rooms. All are warmly appointed with a mix of wood flooring and furnishings and doors that open wide onto a private balcony. A unique ventilation system is designed to reproduce natural airflow and air conditioning is not offered at Borneo Rainforest Lodge. True care has been taken throughout to minimize the lodge's environmental footprint.
Standard Chalets offer rainforest views with an outdoor deck and have one queen and one single bed. Deluxe River View rooms have one king bed and a private tub on the deck looking out over the river. Deluxe Jungle View rooms have two queen and one day bed as well as an outdoor tub on the viewing deck. Premium Deluxe rooms are the ideal choice for families. These rooms have more glass windows and a larger balcony for a better view of the riverbank and rainforest. With two queen beds and a murphy bed, the room can sleep up to five people. An outdoor plunge pool provides a great spot to cool off after hot treks through the jungle.
The new Premium Villas offer the ultimate in rainforest luxury. Single-story villas have a private infinity pool, outdoor shower, and large balcony with panoramic views of the Danum River. The incredibly spacious two-story villas offer lower level infinity pools, balconies on both floors, and an indulgent amount of space in which to enjoy the sounds and sights of the jungle. The villas each have one king bed. For those staying in the Premium Villas, a private guide and private butler service are provided.
Full board is included during a stay along with guided group walks and safari drives as detailed in your itinerary. Leech socks are available for purchase as are a variety of souvenirs, lights snacks, and drinks. A spa offers a selection of massage and foot soak options. WiFi is available in the main lodge although given the remote location, connection is often slow and sometimes not available.
Borneo Rainforest Lodge is located approximately two and a half hours from Lahad Datu. All stays include transportation along these jungle roads where you'll see the difference between the regenerating and virgin rainforests as you enter the Danum Valley.
