The Athena Hotel is a welcome addition to the Pakse hotel scene and probably the most relaxing boutique hotel on offer in the city. From the outside this small city hotel may not look all that impressive but step inside and you will feel like you have discovered a charming and calm oasis away from the busy streets.

This is largely thanks to its good sized swimming pool, which the rooms all sit around (on the ground and first floor) - most of which have balconies over-looking the pool. The rooms are smart and modern with polished wooden floors and spacious well-appointed bathrooms; all have air conditioning, a flat screen TV and wifi.

Of the 21 rooms, 18 are standard and 3 are deluxe. The standard are a little smaller but most have a long communal balcony (with chairs for each room) over-looking the pool. The deluxe rooms are much bigger and have private balconies but these overlook the front of the hotel (city view) so do not have pool views. There are four standard rooms with no pool view balcony including 207 and 208 and 307 and 308. Guests staying in the other standard rooms have the choice of a ground floor room with direct pool access or first floor room with a pool view.

The hotel has a restaurant on site but many choose to walk 10 minutes to the main tourist area for dinner. Wat Phabat is 400 metres from Athena Hotel, while Pakse Hospital is 700 metres from the property. The nearest airport is Pakse International Airport, 3 km from Athena Hotel.
