Summary: The Honeymoon safari take you the northern regions of South Africa into the big five Timbivati Game Reserve. From here you will spend two nights in the scenic 'Panorama Route' area before heading to Swaziland.

Enter South Africa again spending two nights in a quaint tented camp before heading to Kosi Bay Forest, spending 3 nights in a romantic tented camp where you can enjoying canoeing, walks or a day trip to the secluded beach. Next you head to the St Lucia Wetlands staying in the park in a luxury lodge where there is a variety of activities to choose. The itinerary ends in Durban to meet your onward flight.


Day 1: Collect your hire car from Johannesburg International Airport and travel north to the sub-tropical region of Tzaneen where you will be spending your first night at Kings Walden.

3) Tree Top Canopy Tour
4) Cultural tour of local crafts


Day 2 - 3: Today your journey gets a little 'wilder' as you head to the Timbivati Private Game Reserve, spending the next 2 nights at Tanda Tula Safari Camp.
What's included: Accommodation, 2 daily game drives with ranger & Shangaan tracker, all meals, selected drinks. An optional bush walk is also possible after your game drive with a ranger.
What to expect: Enjoy morning and evening game drives as your ranger shares his knowledge of the African bush with you and shows you the variety of animals. Besides being lucky to see the 'big five', you can expect to see a variety of antelope, giraffe and zebra.

You will also have a game drive on the afternoon of your arrival and the morning of your departure.


Day 4 - 5: Travel the short distance to the Hazyview area where you will spend 2 nights at Rissinton Inn.
What's included: Bed & Breakfast
Things to do: Hazyview offers a great base from where to explore the surrounding area with its variety of scenery, waterfalls and of course Kruger:
1) Only 20 minutes to the Paul Kruger Gate - take a picnic breakfast and head into the Kruger National Park for a day of game viewing.
2) A day trip exploring the Panorama Route - visiting God's Window, Bourkes Luck Potholes and the Blyde River Canyon offers a visual feast.
3) Visit Pilgrims Rest - a 'living museum' and be taken back to the days of the gold rush.
4) Enjoy an early morning scenic balloon flight followed by a champagne breakfast.
5) Visit the nearby Elephant Sanctuary where you can interact with these gentle giants.
6) For some culture enjoy an evening festival with traditional food, dancing and story-telling at the Shangaan Cultural Village.
7) For the more adventurous there is quad biking, river rafting, horse-riding or the thrill of Ariel Cable Trail through the trees.


Day 6 - 7: Today the road takes you to Swaziland where you will spend the night in the old family homestead of Reilys Rock.
What's included: Dinner, Bed & breakfast
Things to do: 1) Visit local crafts and Swazi markets
2) Hiking
3) Visit Mlilwane Nature Reserve for hikes & mountain biking
4) Horse-riding


Day 8 - 9: Re-entering South Africa, travel White Elephant Safari Lodge, a lovely tented camp in the Pongola Game Reserve.
What's included: Accommdation, all meals and a choice of 2 eco activities per day (game drive, boat cruise, guided walk, canoeing, Tiger fishing or and Elephant or rhino walk (this involves tracking them).
What to expect: This is another opportunity to see the some of the big game animals as well as the rest of the African wildlife. The scenery is very different to the Timbivati Private Reserve and offers a complimentary safari experience. The boat excursion is great allowing you to see the animals from the boat.


Day 10 - 12: Today you travel the short distance to Kosi Forest Lodge, a romantic bush lodge in the Kosi Forest, where you have 3 days to really explore this untouched region combing bush, lakes and beaches.
What's included: Your stay includes all meals, guided canoe trip through the lakes, canoeing, guided forest walks and sundowner trip to Kosi beach.
Things to do: Sun-bathing, canoeing, forest walks and boat trips or a trip to the Kosi Beach.


Day 13 - 14: The last part of your journey takes you to the St Lucia region, spending 2 nights at Makakatana Bay, a private lodge in the iSimangaliso Wetland Park World Heritage Site.
What's included: Accommodation, all meals, choice of either a full day boat safari, beach safari or game drive to Hluhluwe Game Reserve.
What To Expect: On arrival you will enjoy an evening game drive in the reserve, followed by dinner. The following day you will have the choice of a full day activity as per below. Either is great and will give you a chance to see more of the area.


Day 15: Today you will travel to the King Shaka International Airport (Durban) for your connecting flight home.
If you are flying from Johannesburg, there are daily connecting flights. Joining a longer itinerary from either Port Elizabeth or Cape Town is also possible with daily connecting flights.
