Garden Route and Safari Tours

While some of our clients are looking for a relaxing stay in one or maybe two locations along the Garden Route, other clients are interested in doing a Garden Route tour packed full of experiences in many different locations.

We can organise a full itinerary, including a car, places to stay, entrance to tourist attractions, meals and even a guide if you'd prefer to let someone else do the driving.

If you're looking for a Game Park experience then we can also advise and book you into one of the magnificent lodges from where you can visit the malaria free Addo National Elephant Park, home to 400 elephants who roam freely together with the Lions, Leopards, rare black rhino, buffalo, kudu and red heartebeest.

Here is an example of a 7-day tour we arranged for one of our customer but we don't packaged or group tours everything is designed to suit your requirements.

Garden Route Tour

Day 1: 8h30 our guide meets at your hotel/villa in Cape Town to depart for your Garden Route tour.  Travelling over the scenic Du Toits Kloof and heading onto Worcester and onto Montagu, which is the start of the scenic Route 62.  You will travel through quaint country areas, and also have time to stop at one of the local wine farms to sample the fine port of the area.  Finally arrive in Oudtshoorn, the "Feather Capital" where you will spend the next two nights at Hlangana Lodge.

Day 2: After a scrumptious breakfast we head to the world famous Cango Caves to discover the chambers and channels of this natural cave.  The next part of the day takes us to Safari Ostrich Farm, where you will enjoy a tour of the farm and learn more about these fascinating birds (the world's largest bird).  During the day you will also have some free time to explore the town of Oudtshoorn.

Day 3: Today we take a scenic drive via Willowmore (adjacent to the Baviaanskloof) to Zuurberg where we will be spending the night.  Upon arrival you will have time to relax and unwind in the tranquil surroundings.  Overnight at Zuurberg Mountain Inn.

Day 4: Today the first chapter of game viewing starts as we head to the Addo Elephant National Park to enjoy a morning of game viewing in the park.  A picnic lunch can be enjoyed in the park before heading to our next overnight stop at Belmont.  You will have time to freshen up before heading for Schotia for an afternoon of viewing the lions.  This is followed by a boma dinner.  After a great "African experience" we head back to the guest house for a good nights rest.

Day 5: The next part of your holiday unfolds as we head for the coastal town of Port Elizabeth (fondly referred to as the "friendly city") for an orientation of the city.  Our journey then takes us to the start of the Garden Route as we head to the Tsitsikamma National Park to enjoy an afternoon walk in the forest.  Overnight is at the Tsitsikamma Lodge.

Day 6: After a hearty breakfast, we head for Nature's Valley and Plettenberg Bay, and finally onto the lagoon town of Knsyna.  The afternoon is free to explore this quaint town, before embarking on a cruise of the Knysna Lagoon and Heads (weather dependant).  On board you will enjoy generous snacks (including some fresh water oysters) and champagne.  We overnight at Kanonkop Guest House.

Day 7: After breakfast we head to the Knsyna station to meet the 09h45 Choo Tjoe steam train departure for George.  You will enjoy a scenic train journey travelling alongside lakes and forest; travelling through Sedgefield, Wilderness and onto George where your guide will meet you again to continue the journey back to Cape Town.
