I discovered Thailand and Australia unintentionally: I was living in Europe when I met my now Australian husband on a holiday in Hong Kong. After a few expensive trips around the world to see each other, we decided to look at a destination somewhere in between Europe and Australia and found… Thailand.
And it was love at first sight: After a few days in the bustling and friendly city of Bangkok, we made our way down South. We arrived at our beautiful boutique hotel on the island of Koh Phangan just in time for sunset and agreed that we had found paradise: amazing sceneries, pristine beaches, happy smiles, delicious food… We just spent our days discovering new corners of the island and bathing in the clear waters in front of our beach cottage. We ended up staying much longer than planned as we just didn’t want to end our perfect holiday.
I was so intrigued by this exotic country with all of its abundances, fragrances and its diversity that I wanted to see more, and so I went: I found a lot more island paradises, discovered the spiritual North, fed and bathed elephants in the Golden Triangle, took a train from Singapore to Bangkok to see the countryside and ate my way through Thailand’s innovative culinary scene.
When we decided to get married, we couldn’t think of a better place than Koh Phangan.
Shortly after our first trip to Thailand, I moved to Sydney where we lived together for two years before moving to Asia. I instantly connected with the Aussie culture and used my time off to explore more of this continent that then was my new home. I cuddled with koalas (and made the mistake to say “koala bear” – it is not a bear, as my husband insisted), sailed around the Whitsundays, trekked through lush green rainforests, swam in the most crstal clear waters, marveled at Uluru and took a hot air balloon flight over the Hunter Valley.
Today, I am happy to be able to share my passion for both destinations, Thailand and Australia, as Travel Specialist for fleewinter.
When I am not looking for the next perfect sunset spot or researching new boutique hotels (my other passion), I enjoy cooking, surfing (only since living in OZ), snowboarding and being outside in nature.
Both countries have so many wonderful corners to discover and I would be delighted to create the perfect holiday in Thailand or Australia for you too.

“Thailand’s food is full of exotic flavours and fresh ingredients. Do as the locals do and eat at one of the pop-up food stalls in Bangkok for an authentic Thai meal in a fun atmosphere” – Eva, Thailand Specialist
“A lot of other words are shortened, like arvo – afternoon, barbie = bbq, breaky = breakfast and so on. Your name will most likely also be shortened to something that ends in “y”/”ie” or “z”” – Eva, Australia Specialist
