Koh Rong Samloem Villas is an ideal stop for those who want to escape the crowds and wake up to nothing but the sound of the ocean, without a beeping horn in sight. In keeping with the rest of the island, the accommodation here is quite basic and in fitting with the natural surroundings.

The basic wooden bungalows are fitted with bamboo interiors and pretty thatched rooms. They have double beds, a bedside table, a little shelving unit and a small en-suite bathroom, with a basic shower. Although the bungalows are quite basic, they only opened in 2013 and also feel smart and clean. The resort is also planning to build some more luxurious villas, which we are looking forward to seeing.

Koh Rong Samloem Villas has an authentic Asian fusion kitchen with a delicious range of dishes including freshly cooked seafood. The restaurant has a relaxed lounge feel, which also offers chill out music, island vibes, exotic cocktails and a wide range of other drinks.

The resort works with EcoSea Dive, which has 12 years diving experience in the area, giving you the opportunity to explore some of the best Coral reefs in Cambodia learning to dive, or spending the day snorkelling.

The resort is located on a private beach, on the northern shore of Koh Rong Samloem Island, which is known for its coral reefs. It is separated from the other resorts on the island, which are largely located on Saracen Bay and is only accessible by boat. Departure to the boat from the EcoSea Dive office on Serendipity Beach Road (opposite the Reef Resort) is at 07:50. Guests have to be at the office by 07:45. Private boat pick-ups from any other location cannot be arranged.
