This magnificent vessel, which cruises up and down the Mekong River in Vietnam and Cambodia, was named after the Indian emperor Shah Jahan, who ruled the Mughal Empire from 1628 to 1658. A great patron of architecture and the arts, this elegant ship feels appropriately named.

With three decks, this vessel offers all the amenities of a fine resort, including a pool deck, fitness center, steam rooms, a range of dining venues and an excellent spa. Stretching 70 meters from bow to stern, The Jahan features 26 beautifully-designed cabins on two decks, each with its own private balcony.

Like other cruises in this area it runs three and four night cruises between Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, and Saigon and Phnom Penh - as well as a longer 7 night cruise between Siem Reap and Saigon.

There are five different cabin types - all of which have private balconies. The Superior Staterooms, on the main deck, are decorated in bright tones with redish wall and ceiling artworks. The cabins have sofas with river views and smart en-suite bathrooms with large showers. The Deluxe Staterooms, located on the upper deck, are designed in a warm orange hue and filled with dark colonial furniture with an Indian theme. The Signature Cabins are larger and spread across the main and upper deck - all four have a white-crème façade topped with hand-made marvellous indigo-blue Indian patterns, borders and ornaments which give the cabin a magnificent light appearance. The large wooden four-poster king bed is accompanied by a heavy treasure chest at the foot end to store your belongings.

There are two suites on board, the magnificent Taj Suite is a feast for the eyes – dark wooden with camel boned inlayed chairs, tables, cabinets, side tables and vanity case. The dining lounge, the extravagant solid camel bone sofa and the large majestic wooden bed offer you the full “Shah” feeling”. This suite offers two private balconies – one with Jacuzzi. Meanwhile, the Lord Byron suite is British designed with a light mint green ambiance on the walls that feature British-Colonial paintings – all manually crafted. The furniture comes in a hazelnut brown finishing and the extra large bathroom features an exquisite shower. Lord Byron has one large balcony with an outdoor Jacuzzi.

The Jahan’s elegant Viceroy Dining Hall is located on the Terrace Deck, where you can enjoy al-fresco dining. Here, you can savour lavish buffet breakfasts complete with juices and freshly brewed tea and coffee. Expect to relish exotic fruits, organic vegetables, fish and prawns as you cruise. The Funnel Bar is next door, which was designed to recreate a British-India feel, with a camel bone in-lay and a large lamp, replete with Sanskrit carvings, hanging down the middle of the bar.

The Observatory is on the same deck as the bar and restaurant - it is the ideal place to “observe” life on the Mekong through the panoramic windows on the Observatory. Guests may also book this area for a private candle light dinner in the evening. The Jahan pool deck boasts one of the largest pools on any Mekong cruise – constructed with intricate Turkish Mosaic floor tiles. Soak in the rays of the sun whilst lying on comfy sun beds. Then, jump into our splendid Jacuzzi and allow the bubbles to caress you. There is also a gym and spa on board.
