Located in the Heart of Botum Sakor National Park at Trapeang Rung locality; Cardamom Tented Camp is home to nine comfortable safari-style tents that minimize the human footprint on the natural world and serve as a role model in promoting sustainable tourism practices in the park and within Cambodia as a whole.

The desire to create the camp grew out of a concern that a 180 km2, concession would fall into the hands of loggers, poachers and sand dredging operations. The tract of land is home to pristine lowland and coastal habitats linking wildlife corridors to the Cardamom Mountains.

The eco-camp is equipped with nine comfortable safari-style tents, each of the nine tents provides visitors with a fully-enclosed and mosquito-protected 33m² canvas tent. In-room amenities include twin or Queen double or Triple beds with luxurious mattresses, sufficient fans, bamboo and rattan furniture, bathroom facilities with hot water, rain showers and spacious balcony decks with sun chairs. The premises ensure 24-hour security on site, 24-hour electricity supply & daily housekeeping.

For dining, an open-air communal style Riverbank Restaurant provides seating for 18 guests on a raised platform, patio and pier area, overlooking the Preak Tachan River. Our Khmer chef offers an assortment of delicious local Khmer and foreign dishes in a Set Menu style. Vegetarian options are also available on request. The menu is based on the availability of local and homegrown produce, and dishes are cooked without any flavor enhancers or additives. A wide range of beverages and WiFi in public areas is also available.

There are two different stay packages available: Trekker & Explorer. Trekker offers 3 days and Explorer 4 days, as part of this package, you will have the option to accompany Forest Rangers on more adventurous patrols to more remote parts of the park.

Guests can take part in a number of exciting camp activities that are geared towards assisting in the nature conservation of the park, and which also involve and benefit the local communities in the area. Multiple activities are scheduled on a daily basis and are included in the overall package price.

Activities include, but are not limited to: patrolling with Forest Rangers, setting up camera traps to monitor local wildlife, learning survival skills in the rainforest, finding and recording wildlife footprints and trails, cataloging flora and fauna in the conservation areas, exploring the river systems by kayak, self-guided hikes along carefully prepared trails, learning about negative influences of poaching, logging and sand dredging.
