Southern Ocean Lodge is an intimate 21 sumptuous suites cantileverd along the rugged coastline, each with mesmerising views of the Southern Ocean, designed to create the ultimate fusion of nature and luxury.

Rates include all meals, open bar with premium wine and spirits, in-suite bar, selected Kangaroo Island experiences and island airport transfers.

The Rooms
Interiors feature lavish king beds, sunken lounge, dramatic glass walled bathroom featuring Southern Spa amenities and outdoor terrace with occasional seating and daybed. Other features include: walk-in robe, complimentary room bar, twice daily housekeeping, optional climate control, heated floors, internet, music system (with MP3 input), safe and telephone. Televisions are in selected suites only.

Signature design elements such as sandblasted limestone floors and recycled spotted gum feature walls, as well as contemporary bespoke furnishings and artworks commissioned from local Kangaroo Island artisans harness the natural theatre of this dramatic landscape and environs.

Dining at Southern Ocean Lodge is both a delight for the senses and a true gastronomic journey of Kangaroo Island; the ‘produce to plate’ approach is a real passion for Executive Chef Alastair Waddell and his team.

The daily changing menu honours these fine local ingredients with a cuisine style at once sophisticated and simple to promote the intense purity of flavours and to create a very special dining experience.

The Southern Spa is a private oasis of calm, perched high on a cliff top and commanding dramatic views of the Southern Ocean stretching toward the Antarctic. A destination in its own right, the spa fuses the unique landscape and location of Southern Ocean Lodge with the acclaimed Australian-made Li’Tya range of spa products and professional staff.

Southern Ocean Lodge is an eco-attuned operator. It is rainwater reliant, with breezeway ventilation, and an advanced compost recycling system.
